Log line: Three interwoven stories of youth navigating identity, first love, petty crime, and gun violence in a Southern, American town. |
Synopsis:
In a quiet southern town, popular and charismatic theatre kid Krista finds herself increasingly drawn to Nito, the new student in her high school who catches her attention with his impressive skating videos. The two share an easy rapport and quickly grow close. Unbeknownst to her, their lives and that of her gun-loving neighbor, Adam, will soon become intertwined—until they reach a breaking point. Brimming with energy and style, Beast Beast captures what it means to come of age in an era marked by technology and social media, where violent clashes awaken dormant passions and teenagers are faced with growing up all too quickly.

Select Press:
"Madden navigates this world of cultivated personality, pressure, alienation and exuberance with admirable sensitivity and stylish zeal, the camerawork and editing an appealing grab bag of naturalistic energy and subjective flashiness"
- The Los Angeles Times "All three young actors who play the leads deliver solid performances that make them effortless tour guides through their intersecting stories... The script, cinematography and sound sync together in a way that envelops you." - The Hollywood Reporter "It's a great movie about teenagers that does not talk down to them or patronize them, and I think that it's a great movie for them and for everyone because we were all there once." - FilmThreat "The doc-style cinematography allows the camera to act as an undercover agent, going deep into Gen Z territory." - TheWrap "[A]n exuberant yet critical snapshot of the social media era." - Moveable Fest |
