Happy – Well, this one’s a no brainer. Leading scientists in the field of happiness research (yes, it’s a real thing) travel the world to find out what makes us happy. Suffice it to say there are a lot of happy people in this film. Happy teaches us that anywhere on earth can become a paradise – depending on your outlook.
Dolphin Adventures – Who doesn’t love dolphins? This classic doc shows us the first encounter between humans and wild dolphins in 1978. With all the buzz going about the SeaWorld and killer whale doc 'BlackFish,' it might be nice to see a more upbeat marine mammal film. It also features an “underwater piano” – something I never would have even imagined to exist.
A Matter of Size – A comedy about Israeli sumo wrestlers – seriously. No longer content to be just a “fatso” washing dishes for a living, Herzl becomes a Sumo wrestler. Sumo is a sport where a big man can earn great prestige, even if he’s wearing a diaper.
The Pill – Let’s round off the list with a good rom-com. Starring The Witches of East End's Rachel Boston, 'The Pill' is a refreshingly modern spin on the standard romantic comedy formula. After an ill-conceived one night stand, neurotic Fred has to follow quirky Mindy around New York City to get her to take her second dose of the morning-after pill. Easier said than done.
